Here is a very rare 1959 Rickenbacker 365/Capri . These guitars had very low production numbers (under 100 for 1959) . The serial number indicates this originally was a Vibrato model, this would not have had a factory Bigsby but someone has gone to great lengths to design a platform to install one and it looks like it's been there since day 1 ,there are small screw holes from the original Vibrato on the back of the guitar. The Bigsby tailpiece and bridge are both from the 50's and the insert platform for the Bigsby has a perfect colour match to the original finish . The guitar has the original pickups , knobs ,tuners and pickguards , the pots and wiring are newer to the guitar . There is a tiny hole in front of the volume pot on the lower guard that shouldn't be there .
The neck has had a new Rickenbacker truss rod installed and the guitar has been refretted with larger frets and plays great . This early model Ricky has a beautiful 2 inch thick body with double binding ,the original Fireglow finish is stunning . This guitar has been played for years so the finish on the neck and body definitely shows honest wear . A super cool guitar that's ready for another lifetime of playing .
