Here is a perfect example of a Gibson GA-18 Explorer amp . This one is from 1960 , all the transformers date to 1960 with the GA-18 stamp on the actual transformer , the original Jensen P10R also dates to 1960 . Overall the amp is in amazing condition , the tweed covering is all intact with some staining , and a few filter caps have been replaced with a newer grounded AC cable . The knobs , handle and all other hardware are also original to the amp . The tremolo is strong and sounds fantastic , these Gibson amps have been second fiddle to the Fender Tweed amps of the era but are now becoming ever more popular , tonally they will stand up to any Fender Tweed ! This one sounds unbelievable .
