DESCRIPTION
You know when a guitar has this much players wear that it must have been a good one ! Here is a 1968 Gretsch Viking , the Viking model came equipped with some interesting options that generally made the guitar a bit clunky , the main one being a tuning fork bridge with a mute . The tuning fork bridge was actually an A440 tuning fork attached to a frame , the strings are woven through the frame and over the bridge, the theory is that the tuning fork ,which hangs into the body, will create more sustain , did it work ? not so much . The good news is it's all been removed with the mute and has made the guitar into a more lean machine ( all the original parts are in the case ) This one has also had the binding replaced on the body and fingerboard with a refret . All said this guitar is dialed in and plays great , both Supertron pickups have nice output, a little darker than the Filtertrons but sound amazing . W/OHSC
