I think this one might have fooled a few people over the years ! Here is a beautiful 1962/63 Hardtail Fender Stratocaster , the finish on this one looks absolutely amazing and is the Fender Custom Colour ,Charcoal Frost Metallic . Unfortunately it has been refinished ,but boy does it look real ! Charcoal Frost did not exist as a Custom Colour until 1965 , this one also has a reddish primer underneath (it should be white) The finish has aged perfectly with nice checking and a 'greenish' hue. The guitar has had a pro refret and the bridge pickup was expertly rewound by the Pickup Wizard . Fender did make a limited number of Mahogany body guitars in the early 60's and this is one of them , yes it has a Mahogany body ! The neck date is Dec 62 with all pots dating to 1963 and neck plate putting it in the 1963 range . The neck and middle pickups are original with all wiring and original 3 way , all plastics and hardware are original to the guitar . This guitar is a joy to play and sounds incredible !
