Here is a fantastic 1992 Gibson ES-165 / Herb Ellis , these guitars were based on the classic ES-175 model , many jazz players only used the neck pickup and desired a slightly thicker neck profile so the Herb Ellis model was born . This example looks and feels like a 60's Gibson , the finish has wonderful checking and signs of a long playing life ,the gold plating on the pickup cover and bridge has worn in so spots down the nickel plating , the neck feels fantastic and the original frets are in great shape . The tone is smooth with depth and clarity . Amazing guitar !
