Here is a special one ! This is a really cool 1963/64 Gibson ES-335 . This one has a few changes , but all good one's . The guitar has a complete refin in black with a nitrocellulose lacquer , it has some minor wear and checking , you can see the original red finish under the black through the wear marks . The tuners are vintage reproductions , no extra holes were drilled and the bushing holes have not been widened , the bridge, pickguard ,tailpiece ,orange label and knobs are original to the guitar . The pickups in this one are amazing , they are a set of Rewind Electric PAF Low Wind A5 . These pickups are some of the closest sounding to an original PAF . The web site for Rewind Pickups goes into great detail on how they are made - unpotted , rough cast custom Alnico magnets ,42 awg plain enamel magnet wire , butyrate bobbins , maple spacers and a whole bunch of other details that goes way over my head ! Both volume pots date to 1977, both tone pots are new. The guitar has had a refret and plays perfectly , the nut width is the perfect 1 11/16 ,this one weighs in at only 7 lbs 15 oz .Old wood !!!!!
