Here's a rare one ! This is a 1962 Fender Bass VI , if you follow vintage prices you have probably noticed that the Bass IV has skyrocketed in price over the past few years , this one has had some interesting modifications so is priced accordingly .
The body is the original sunburst finish with a few small extra screw holes in various places, the body has no modifications , the neck has the original frets but has been oversprayed with a new decal on the headstock , the odd part is the install of a thin maple laminate on top of the headstock , it's hard to notice but its there . The neck and bridge pickups are both original , the middle pickup has been replaced but maintains the original cover , the control plate is brass and not original to the bass , the pickup selector plate appears original but has had the nickel plating removed , 2 of the pickup surrounds have also had the nickel plating removed . The pickguard is a' Pickguardian' reproduction , the pots are older but not original to the bass.
All said this thing has the "tone " deep ,haunting and super fun to play . This could be a great restoration or enjoy as is .
