Here's a real beauty , this is a 1959 Gibson LP Special . This special plays perfectly ! The neck is a nice '59' profile , 50's neck profiles do vary but this fits into the comfortable larger size with tapered shoulders . The original finish is mostly intact but there are sanding marks on the back and top where it looks like they tried to even out the wear marks on the guitar , the neck pickup has also been moved back about 7mm and a small block has been added to the tenon , this has been covered by a 'Gibson' looking plastic plaque . There are 2 small stress marks by the heel and headstock , it looks like checking but doesn't follow the checking pattern on the guitar , they are all solid with no movement . The electronics ,including pots and cap are untouched with original solder , the pickups are also original and sound amazing , the pickguard , knobs, wraparound bridge , tailpiece and tuners are original ,the jack plate has been changed to nickel .
All said this is a solid 1959 Special that plays perfectly and sounds unbelievably good .
