Every guitar has a story and this one is no exception . This guitar is all 1963 , neck date , pots , pickups and all hardware, the story begins with the colour . This one started its life as Candy Apple Red ( all markings are present under the pick guard ) when the owner ordered the guitar he asked for a red one , in 1963 when he received it he hated the colour ! It was sent back to the Fender Fullerton factory in the spring of 1964 and re sprayed at the factory in the darker Dakota Red. All the correct Fender Factory markings and stamps are present indicating its return to the Fender Factory. At that time a 1964 transition logo was added and they had a happy customer. The guitar has had a refret at some point , the tortoise guard is a little different than what we would expect to see but has the original ground plate attached and shows consistent age . This guitar has appeared on a few web sites including and has paperwork. The guitar was originally ordered by Trestman Music in Minnesota in 1963 . What a great story and a great guitar !! w/OHSC
